Fun for a great cause

Panoptics compete in the Rock Solid Race for charity Smile Train

Congratulations to the Panoptics team that completed the mud soaked Rock Solid Race this weekend.

A gruelling assault course across a mud scarred midlands landscape, interspersed with challenging team obstacles and freezing cold plunge pools. As you can see in the photos everyone that took part had great fun and enjoyed the challenge whilst raising a significant amount of money for the charity Smile Train. Support Engineer Sam Jones, reinforced the teams feelings by commenting; “It was an awesome day and a really fun way to raise money for such a great cause. I’m still trying to remove the mud from my clothes and car.”

After the fun filled event, Mark Brookbanks, Panoptics Managing Director, commented; “Rock Solid Race was brilliant and a real opportunity to further forge the great team spirit we enjoy at Panoptics. The event has been a welcome distraction from work, with the majority of the team never participating in such an event before. Quite simply put, it was one of the most fun and funniest events Panoptics have ever participated in and if it wasn’t for the constant laughter all around the course, I’m confident the Panoptics comradery and determination would have manifested in a record beating time – so I’m adamant we will be participating once again in the near future, with the full Panoptics contingent!

Hats off, also, to the organisers as the event was incredibly well managed and Panoptics, along with all competitors, felt well supported throughout the day with the hot showers at the end being a welcome relief after the freezing cold mud pools.

But let’s not forget why we did this challenge. We setout to raise as much money as we could for a great charity, one that is close to my heart. Smile Train is providing life changing surgery to children within some of the most underdeveloped countries around the world and I want to ensure that we as a company do everything we can to support their mission. Therefore, I implore everyone to show support for the team that completed this challenge by digging deep and donating as much money as you can.

I also wish to thank Smile Train for the support and encouragement they have given during this event, and most importantly thank all those that have already donated – your generosity means a lot to me and the whole Panoptics team.”
