And the winner is…
The inaugural Panochef cooking competition has concluded and Panoptics are excited to announce the winner.
Panochef 2015, a now annual staff cooking competition and the brainchild of HR and Business Operations Manager Victoria Lang, has been an incredible success and the talk of the office for months.
This year’s competition was to cook a 3 course meal for the entire staff, served in the office at lunchtime. With no limitations on what can be served, other than the logistics of transporting the meal to the Putney office, everyone embraced the challenge. The quality of cooking was exceptional and the competition fierce from the outset, with several contenders for the 2015 championship. With incredible meals including ‘Plate crushingly amazing lamb kebabs with a homemade tzasiki dip’ & ‘Mangoey Crab Cups’, it isn’t any wonder that the winner wasn’t clear until the last lick of the spoon.
At a star studded, glittery awards ceremony (the company’s End of Year party!) the results were finally announced, with cook extraordinaire (and funnily enough the competition organiser and score counter) James Lewis taking the trophy in its inaugural year.
Fighting off tough competition (with only a minor amount of vote rigging?), James is a deserving winner after serving up a delicious meal of ‘Oriental Smoked wings, Chilli with Lime and coriander Rice, Peach & Orange shortcake with Chocolate chip cream’. Closely followed by Benjamin Hundeyin, Support Engineer, in Silver place who served ‘Shrimp Ceviche, Rice and Peas with Jerk Chicken, Chocolate & Cherry Mousse’, and Andy Lang, Technical Director, in Bronze place who served ‘Duo of freshly baked breads stuffed with; Trio of cheese and rocket, Tapenade and sundried tomatoes, Lang’s take on the atlas sausage pasta and white chocolate panacotta served with seasonal raspberries’.
With the bar set high and the entire team now eager to get their hands on the much coveted ‘Panotrophy’, the 2016 competition is bound to be close. Be sure to check back for updates on the ‘Cocktails & Canape’s’ 2016 competition soon.
